New invites don't show if you're on their tab when they arrive

Steps to reproduce

1. Log in as Alice on one device and as Bob on another device.
2. Navigate Alice to the Groups tab
3. As Bob, create a new group and invite Alice
4. Observe that the invite doesn't appear for Alice
